My lad & his mate recently (5-6 months ago) got Saints from CRC, within days they've both had refunds due to shonky bearings, so what else should he/they be looking at? £50 is the max (give or take a couple of quid)
I think I asked the same question when he 1st got them but can't find the thread!
Thru pin SSC Nanotech.
I'm a self-confessed DMR flat pedal fan-boy. Apart from one pair of Nukeproof Electrons I've always used either V8s, V12s and now Vaults. Ubyk have Vaults for £72, which is quite a bit over budget but they're brilliant. But they also have the new low profile V12s for £45. For under £50 thats where my money would go.
Nanos of some sort. Mine are the AN06s, which are a wee bit lighter.
2 x pairs of v12's. I know a fat bloke who uses em....no issues at all.
Used Vaults

What's wrong with the Electrons?
Thinking about some Saints myself. Say it isn't so with the bearings. How can you tell? Do they suddenly begin to spin freely?
I didn't like the electrons- the axle seemed prominant and even at full length the pins aren't that long. Just didn't seem very grippy. But better riders than me like them so what do I know? 🙂
Actually nothing. They are great for the money and never missed a beat. I bought them when I needed a new pair and money was very tight. If I've got the money though I prefer to ride on Vaults.

Not this, I'm currently looking for some and they don't seem to come up second hand all that often. Don't need another person beating me to buying the ones that I want!
Agreed on the v12's, fit and forget.
Superstar Nanotechs
Wellgo V8 copies, 10 mins to actually put some grease in them, and then spend the rest of the money on pizza and fizzy pop.*

I would strongly agree with spending a bit more and getting some vaults. Worth every penny. If you can't quite stretch then V12s.

That would be some seriously shit coke and skanky hookers with change from a fifty
+1 for Nanos. I've tried Vaults and now own a pair of Hope f20s but wouldn't bother to break a set budget for either. They're betterer, yes, but the Nanos are 99.9999999% adequate.
I have a pair of vaults for sale... £45 and they're yours

Mr dbcooper fitted these wellgo magnesiums MG-1 to my bike, they are very light. h has them on all his MTB's and we have yet to see an issue.

I find them ultra grippy.
3 pairs of the carbon cycles nano equivalents in this house (on three bikes, not repeated failures). They've been faultless so far and seem to work well with Shimano shoes.
I have an unused pair of Vaults too, just waiting for my new bike to arrive to put them on, so unable to compare them just now 🙁
