I need some reccomendantions for a bar bag suitable for a 'normal' MTB handlebar, what's good and not stupid money?
It's main use will be carrying a large micro 4/3rds camera and lens, plus some snacks, and if there was room for another lens of the same size that'd be good. Top loading for ease of access, doesn't need to be 100% waterproof.
Pics below for camera size, and also the bike bars it'll be going onto. I'm still not sure tbh how well they work with the typical MTB cables!

I'm planning on doing some gravel riding up in Scotland later this year and would like to be able to carry my camera and 'big' lens with me. I've got a pancake lens for carrying in my hip pack or rucksack but I'd prefer to be packless on the longer, more mellow rides. Plus it's too heavy to be comfortable in the hip pack.
Any half-decent/waterproof one with a Klickfix mount?
If I take my large compact soon I’ll put it in its own bag before putting in the bar bag and that’s fine.
This is a good read

Klickfix
That's the sort of info I need, cheers - tbh I've never looked into bar bags or bikepacking kit before and once I start I can see me ending up down a very big hole... 🤣
I was going to recommend a Klickfix one as they’ve pretty secure once attached. Orlieb do a bar bag that’s waterproof and a padded camera insert - look on SJS Cycles - top money though. I’ve just bought this Altura Heritage one but it won’t arrive until next week: https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=81997
Yeah Klickfix has a number of benefits it allows a good weight to be carried thanks to a steel cable which wraps around the stem. This keeps the whole thing in position and (bonus) it keeps away from hands and cables also.
Even better because it’s a quick release you can instantly take bag/valuables with you if you need to leave the bike for a moment without having to decant them into yr pockets or faff with straps/buckles whatever. Bags that are Klickfix compatible don’t often include the bracket itself, be sure to order the correct handlebar diameter bracket.
I like Carradice and Altura bags but Ortlieb come well recommended in general. Haven’t watched this particular video but this channel is good for bag reviews:

Was looking at that bag only the other days but reviewers all said it caught on the front wheel as was too deep.
I've ordered two of these: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/restrap-bar-pack for the wife and I. Bit of a punt, but we'll see how they fair next WE...

So bit of an update on this, on looking at it, the Klickfix solution wasn't ideal as it's semi permanently attached to the bike and I don't really want it attached when the bike isn't in bikepacking/gravel mode. Out of all the other bar bags that only left the ortleib QR bag as an option, except it's not, due to there only being 6cm between the mounting bracket lugs and my stem and GPS mount being wider than that.
So I ordered a restrap race top tube bag, in the hope it would be able to fit my camera with the small lens - but knowing that it'll be a very useful bag for snacks etc if it didn't fit:

It doesn't fit. Ah well, tbh I was sort of expecting that. If you had a slimmer camera it'd fit fine.
So, onto what I hope will be the solution. I've ordered a proper camera holster pack:

Which fits my camera and the big lens perfectly. I'll then adapt the bag with the belt attachment system it has to either attach to the top tube next to the stem, below the restrap bag, or to mount onto the bars - it should be small enough to fit over one set of cables and under the other.
Watch this space!
Oh and it's pictures like this that give me a cold shiver, and wonder why a proper flat bar mounting system hasn't been made yet:

What the hell is up with those brake hose angles. 🤨 There's no way in hell I'd ride a bike like that.
