They look like fun. Are there any in South Wales?

I think there was a series run in Wales - Red Kite Enduro or something? I'll be aiming for the full PMBA series in 2015 and the 'Ard Rock. The rounds of the PMBA I did last year were great fun.

Ard rock does look good - ad on the main page atm.

Sry to ask, but what's the script with full-face helmets? Vaguely aware that they seem mandatory for the more high profile events, but perhaps not all? [Not done an enduro for a few years].

I think so far only the UKGE national series have made them mandatory. And some Bluegrass/No Fuss ones. But mostly it's fine

Recommended but not mandatory in the PMBA ones. Only a very few people wear them in those.

Helmets will still be riders choice for the 2015 QECP endure races.

2 at QECP and a round of the UKGE at triscombe.

What's the Triscombe course like? Any good for a mincer like me?

For South Wales then I'd probably be looking at the Red Kite ones, they're doing 5 rounds next year. They're chilled out and stages don't have start times so you can ride transitions with your mates.

I've already got the 6 PMBA ones in the diary and ArdRock but after reading a review from someone on here, I'm tempted to try and get to a few Red Kite ones too. Looked pretty fun and low key...

The first year the UKGE will be at tiscombe but there are some great trail round there, I'm sure it will be a cracker.

Mondraker Gravity Rally (enduro) on Exmoor is a great event. Probably in July next year I should imagine.

Is there a calendar anywhere online?

Bottom right hand corner of your monitor/laptop. Not sure that helps though 🙂

Thinking of entering the 'ArdRock Enduro and maybe one or two of the Red Kite events this year. Slightly worried that I might be a bit out of my depth though, although do intend to try and put in some semi-serious training (currently weight 100kg so [s]pretty[/s] very slow on the climbs).

What are these events like for first timers? Are most people there dead serious enduro racers or is there a reasonable number of bimblers just out to have fun?

'Ardrock entrants were mainly there to have fun. A bit of fitness helps though as it's a 40km route with 1200m of climbing!

be warned a lot of enduros sell out very swiftly, best to get your entry in as soon as they are live!

enduro1, red kite, qecp all run some good stuff in the south, shame the frostbite 40 at brechfa doesnt still happen, that was ace!

I'm tempted for one/some of these next year as I'm losing interest in XC racing. How technical are they, generally? Are we talking full on downhill style descents or just natural trail stuff? I'm used to the latter but not the former 😉
