Back on a hardtail for the first time in ages. It's great but I have gotten really soft/lazy/used to the seat not kicking my ar5e. So I am in the market for a decent dropper post that doesn't break the bank

I’m very pleased with my OneUp V2. Had it over a year, rapid up, rapid down and no problems. Probably still available cheaper than the V3. The later seal kit is available as a spare. Good choice of lengths/drop too.
Hope this helps!
I used a brand X dropper on my P7.
No issues with it in 4 years of riding. Think Evans, sports direct and house of Fraser have them for £99
Stif have some very cheap KS droppers in their eBay store thebikeoutlet.
I love a One Up, but hard to see past the KS Levs being dumped cheap by Stif. Cable anchors at post end though which is more of a pain to set up.
