Was going to get a long socket on the way home from work.
Any ideas what size is good?

For the front I use the adapters.

Dunno. I've got lots of sockets. One always fits

To be fair, one socket of a particular size may have a different outside diameter to another so you're gonna have to suck it and see I think! 🙂

I tend to use the old bearing, sat on top of the new one.

I've used an old hope axle before, the bearing kit makes it a lot easier though.

Sockets. Using an exle or the adaptors is going to load the inner race not the outer, surely?

proper Hope bearing tools.
Between the locals here, we've all got at least one Pro2 hub, so it kind of made sense that someone bought the tools (I've got the Hope BB bearing tool). Makes the job so easy, along with peace of mind the bearings seat nice and square

I bought the proper tools. £20 seemed a fairly cheap price to pay for doing the job properly.

I've got 4 sets of wheels with Hope hubs, though.

Hope tools for me too. The one for pushing the rear seal back in makes that part easy too.

Just use the old bearing and hit it with a hammer

Its basically the best tool there is as the loading points are correct!

20mm adaptors sit on the outer race.

buy the tools! seriously, much easier when you have them

evo and non evo rear need a different size though so watch out for that

As Eckythump - I use a socket on top so it doesn't matter if I bugger the old seal
