Hi guys,

I'm thinking of buying this as a general workhorse. I believe it's a 2001 from web research, its a CAAD3. It has just had the forks overhauled with reciept, DMR V12's and magura disks of around the same age (Clara or Louise?). It has a mix of LX/XT drivetrain along with stock parts. Oh and the gash handlebars!

I think I may be able to locally collect for £250.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Well worth £250 IMO. I like the CAAD (Cannondale Advanced Aluminium Design) Wont have much travel 80mm I would image but should have lockout. They look like some pretty old Magura brakes so you may need to get some new ones if they are shot.

But overall worth it. Try knocking him down to £120? edit obviously meant £220!

Thanks for the reply mate. The forks are 80mm Fatty Super DL, air fork with lock out.

The brake have also been recently serviced...2004 Magura Louise i have just found out. They get good reviews for a basic brake.

He wanted £350 saying it was a 2006 bike. When i told him it was waaay older he said £275. I reckon £250 with cash would do it.

I think £120 would be bloody fantastic but i dont think it will happen. I sold my last CAAD3 frame of the same era for £100 18months ago...that was frame and headset only.

Cheers

Not too bad for £250 but as an example, my brother got a Jekyll off eBay (the pretty one with the team colours) which was a similar vintage for less than that.

If you could get it for £200, that'd be a good deal.

Highly likely the fork will have rusted plates inside the headshock and need a complete re-built at £90 ish. The DL Headshock fork is pretty pants to be honest. If you compress it and it feels rough, that's rust on the plates.

I'd be looking at £200 or less.

I have been looking on ebay at Jekyll's and there are some nice ones with headshok's going for £200-250 and £300+with a Lefty. As for the 'F' series they sell all over the spectrum. I was thinking £200 or less would be idea. I think it will be tricky as he just shelled out £100 to have the forks overhauled.

I will have a think. I'd need to spend a few quid to get it how i want it too which adds to it (shorter stem, flat bars etc)
