After OE pedals and 10yr old DMR v8s I've upgraded to some new v12's in orange. Think I might have gone a bit loud!

1. Rear mudguard looks rubbish
2. If you're going orange get the grips to match the pedals
3. Saddle is not flat
4. Fence needs fixing
5. Worst grass ever
Other than that all good
Edit....Damn missed the reflector....was too focussed on all the other shizzle going wrong
Nice reflector
Bottom fence-rail needs fixing.
Bright pedals make you look younger.
tymbian - MemberBright pedals make you look [s]younger[/s] like they were on special at your LBS.
I fixed that for you 😆
The whole bike looks shit, so I think you got away with it 😉
I like the bike. Looks like it has been loved and ridden for a few years. Nice to see.
Pedals are a bit loud, but who cares? Have fun with them!
Don't worry about the pedals. I'd be more concerned that your wheels are two sizes out of date.
It's ok, looks like he's about to set fire to it anyhow.
Needs more neon

[I'm assuming it's 8-speed, but they do a 9-speed one too]
1: Considered getting rid of the mud flap just not got round to it.
2: Pedals were on offer. Paint wears off.
3: I forgot I had the reflector on, its not fallen of yet basically.
4: Wheel size is only old if you want it to be.
5: Yes it has been ridden and loved 2005 vintage.
6:
Last one for now, Wheel size thing personally is both advancement but also a marketing thing which many people fall for.
Just get out and ride your bike! You can only ride one bike at a time remember.
There are a lot of the Konas of that time that are still around and ridden - not particularly light but well made, tough and handle well. As they tend to have the Marzocchis on that last well too they are a great 2nd hand but I reckon.
I still ride my 1994 Kona and its still my favourite bike.

Are you my mother? 😆
Konas rock! Enjoy!! Needs more orange though 8)
You need some Magura Raceline brakes, too!
My first real MTB was that Kona Caldera. They changed the frame to a much more chunky one the following year - the skinny tubes are much nicer. Really nice bike to ride - my one is still going strong with one of my mates (although now resprayed).
Cheers guys, ive had it from new. But hardly rode it for a few yrs (Uni and work) but its tough, handles well for me but a little heavy as you say. I have taken the rear mud guard off and it actually looks nicer.
I have taken the rear mud guard off
Are you mad? You'll have sh1t all up your back now!
Oh, and you do need orange grips too.
Is that a triple too?! Wuts wrong with you man!
26-er and triple is the new niche you know 🙂
It is around here.
Cool bike. I had a Nunu as my first ever proper bike, loved it! Still got the frame but all the bits broke/seized up/fell off. Might get some 'zochis for it one day...
Those konas were, for me at least, the peak of how good an average mountain bike could look. They just looked so right, no mad graphics or daft tube shapes or oversized headlines and so on. Just very "right" looking bikes.
Til you put orange pedals on, of course 😉
