Front mechs, Allen keys, carbon bars? That kinda stuff
Strip 'em for spares and bin 'em.
front mech - kept for spares (or at least the limiter screws and bolts are) or kept for a hack bike if not completely knackered
Allen key - metal bin
Carbon bars - up on the wall or bin...
dont brake em - none of those items are consumables and thus i dont brake them with enough regularity to have an issue disposing of them ... now chainrings , chains and cassettes i go through alarmingly so i removed them and went steel sprockets and SS
put them in the "self repair" drawer. Always a disappointment tho to find they're still in the same shockingly broken state when you desperately need a rear mech at 10pm...
How do you repair a front mech that's got more play than Ryan Giggs?
I've usually thrown the old part in the bottom of my toolbox, unless it is completely trashed, in which case it goes in the appropriate bin at the front of the house, rubbish or recycling.
Take all the nuts and bolts and whatever off and take em to the dump.
I have The-Bursting-Box-of-Broken-Bike-Bits where I store all such damaged and worn items until I have need for them again... and I never do need them again so the box gets bigger until it's time to go to the metal recycling skip at the dump.
Sell them using my other username.
Have yet to break an Allen key or a carbon bar but generally if it was expensive it gets fixed (excl. shifters) otherwise salvage what is salvageable and bin the rest.
A front mech? What's that?
