Sorry for another road wheel thread!

I'm looking at wheelsets around the£300 mark (like everyone else it seems!)

For£300 I can get 19mm internal tubeless ready.

For £150, I can get 17mm non tubeless.

I'm not tubeless now so that's not that important, but what is the real world difference the 2mm will make? I have 19mm at the moment.

Nothing at all to concern you, go for it.

A slightly smaller maximum size tyre and for a given size tyre it will be slightly more rounded

I would go wider and tubeless ready of you can. It does make for a nicer ride when you get tubeless tyres.

Is there nothing inbetween those two options? Seems like a big jump in price for what is a marginal gain.

By £300 you've almost got your pick of any alloy rim and just comprimise on hubs to fit the budget. I'd look at the DT swiss options via the german online shops, either by buying rims/spokes or have a look at their of the shelf custom options which seem very good VFM.

19s will blend better into a 28mm tyre sidewall, more aero.

It's the Scribe 365's that are currently the most appealing at £270. But there's a compromise there on the quality of the hub I think.

I've just realised this morning though thanks to another thread that superstar pave wheels with 17mm internal and non tubeless are £150. That's a big saving. Can get those with some conti gp5000 and latex tubes for less than the scribe wheels alone. I believe the superstar hubs are pretty decent?

Comprimise at £205, and you dont get the width, but they are tubeless and a comparable weight. Ive got the previus version as my winter wheels. The tubeless has been faultless with hutchinson fuision 11storm tyres and stans race sealent.

Downside is C&C bearings which some people love, others hate. I like them.

Nothing blends with a 28c tyre! There really is practically no difference. 19 mm will make a 23c tyre look decently aero and a 25c less of a lightbulb. I run 20c on my internal 17 mm HED3’s on the trike. I have a 23c on the 19mm ride HED disc for the TT bike.

If you don’t care about the aeroz, save the £150.

The DT Swiss wheels are thru axle but I need QR. They include these

2 x 5 mm Endcap Kit
1 x 15 mm Endcap Kit

Are these QR endcaps?

I'm running Michelin XC 26 x 2.3 tyres on Mavic 717 rims. Is that bad?
