Morning all
Will be buying a proper light on friday and wanted to hear from the floor which lights are recommeded.
Currently looking at the exposure enduro (with three bulbs @700 ish lumens)
Really like the no wires/compact design style of lights
Is there anything else I should be considering?
Hope Vision 4, love them. Even the 2 at 480 lumens does the trick.
I am considering the LIGHT & VISION 150L but not sure how good they are. They are wired though.
Can't fault the Exposures - I've been running two Enduro Maxx units for 2 years and so far have been faultless, both still exceed manufacturers stated run times. Cable free design is a big plus point for me also.
The Dealextreme lights do seem amazing value for money though and the STW massive seem to be on a buying frenzy for this at the moment - 900 lumens for £50 - can't argue with that!
Cabkle free self contained DX torch (same 700-900 Lumens as the bike specific one): http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12060
Charger http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6105
Batteries http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5790
on and one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2709 to convert the charger.
I second the exposures - i use the big daddy for my very dark commute and can out dazzle the undipped cars. Great through the forest too.
can someone provide a clicky for the exposures, is it these?
A Troutie one for quality & brightness or a DX for cheapness - job done.
Exposure Enduro Maxx plus a Joystick. Brilliant combination (but you do really need both).
GB
go the whole hog and get a Maxx-D 🙂
Or, do like the guy on my train in the mornings who runs two Lupine HIDs from a dirty great bottle battery. I'm sure there are cheaper ways of getting nearly 2000 lumens but you can certainly see him coming...
LUU from on-one are quite a good deal. 900L and you can get the optional AA battery pack that attaches to the light for no wires.
organic355 - Yes that is the right one. Now replaced by the Toro for 2010.

The Evans price in your link looks like a good deal.
Used my DX light for the first time last night. Was out with several other riders using Hopes, Light & Motion etc. All commented on how bright the DX was and a few thought it has a better beam spread than the Hopes.
I know not really no cable type thing but have u seen the new Nukeproof stuff nice a solid 900 lumens for not a huge price
Are the exposures really that good for offroad? They may be bright but from the photos the mounting system looks like the light would vibrate all over the place and doesnt look very sturdy?
I was looking at the light and vision 150L or 300 set but it seems for similar money i can get a lot more light output, the L&V defo look better IMO, but not as much power for the money.
