Pricing up cheap options for a singlespeed cyclocross bike. Anyone know what cheap frames available?

Specialized Tricross single . Used of course. Maybe a bit too mainstream for some though.

pompetamine (the pompino is 120mm)

£200, but daft discount sales come around quick enough.

Great frameset, lovely geometry.
Really considering ditching my 120mm and building some nice CX wheels up in a new 135mm frame....

You can use any frame you like if you invest in a W.I. Eccentric Eric rear hub, you then always have the option of adding gears, hub resale value is pretty good.

BTW the pompetamine also has 35c clearance as well as 135mm OLN compared to the more track-y 28c & 120mm OLN of the original pomp.

28c & 120mm OLN of the original pomp.

my 08 pompino (120) takes 35c tyres no problem.

Looking for a medium 52-54 would be fine.
Any full bikes or frames for sale.

Pompino looks best option.

Thinking cheaper option is 2nd hand full bike.

Just for completeness ... There were (native) 135mm OLN Pomp's in blue - I had one for a bit back along.

Could use a ENO eccentric hub then pick any frame.

as Kuco and qwerty have said WI is good way to go, worth trawling clasifieds and fleabay to see if any second hand ones but as qwerty said they do seem to hold value. WI with dirty disco? That'd be a fun sscx 😀

i used a WI Eno on a Major Jake a couple of years ago and found i could only get a 32mm tyre in. now this maybe the frame but we thought it was the eno that put the wheel in a funny place? 😕

I now have a Traitor Crusade frame after lusting after a Nature Boy all year. a dedicated SS CX frame is a beautiful thing so i'd go that way.

A friend has a pomp, the old ones looked good but the new colour is poor and its bloody weighty.

Sniff out a ss Tricross for best value.

as does mine thom, but the O-O website spec seems to suggest that the 120mm has a little less clearance. Seems odd though I confess.
