I am in the market for some new cranks to go on my Pivot 429l. It has a PF92 bottom bracket with some Hope press fit bearings fitted.
I have to date been running RaceFace Next sl, and have just destroyed my second pair with cracks in both arms loose pedal threads and a loose axle interface.
I am looking to replace these with something fairly light, probably with a 30mm axle. Riding is xc/trail but I am a fairly heavy and can be quite powerful.
Reliability is important to me.
Suggestions please and thanks.
I have SRAM X01. Seem solid and reliable.
If you don't need a little chainring then XTR M970 is a champ- cheap, strong, lighter than most carbon options... (Not as light as a Next SL but you know why those are so light ) It's 24mm rather than 30mm but mostly that just means your BB lasts better.
Hope? 30mm axle to fit your BB, reasonably light and strong enough for a serial rock basher like me.
