nicer than SLX and lighter if possible - silver would be good. Like the lok of FSA ones, do the work with shimano BBs? Normal HT2 btw

I've got a set of these these:

[img] [/img]

(well the older fifteen g version from before by the hive bought e.thirteen)
Which i keep meaning to put on the classifieds. As light as xtr (lighter iirc) and yours for £70 - need a bottom bracket though.

How about these Race Face Evolve XC that I have on the classifieds? You could polish them up to be silver and you would save a lot of money for a nice chainring.

They are heavier than XTR. They are only ~20g lighter than SLX & XT.

You're only going to save ~100g max, even if you went for XTR over SLX.

New style XT doubles work well - tabs look like the old Jones'd M960 XTR in a way. Either them, or new XTR/Zee with the tab covers

Ok, stupid question, do these middleburn cranks fit a niner EBB and how does the spider fit..??

I'm after something lighter than a pair of 09xt's I have on MrSchmancy.

With the middleburns you can run either the spider to accept 1, 2 or 3 rings or just an UNO chainring with no spider as per the picture above.

The only thing to watch out for is the bottom bracket, you get the standard middleburns in square taper or isis and then the x-type for ht2 bottom brackets. All of which should fit in your niner EBB.

Raceface Atlas? lighter than slx?

To me OP had a preference of looks over weight? 🙄
Yep Atlas are 685g but look a lot nicer plus the anodised finish and etched graphics wont rub off in a week and look shite like the Shimano ... 😉

Shimano cranks are anodised... all cranks look crap in no time if you don't cover them IME!

SRAM X0 Carbon crank (or X9/AKA) and MRP Bling Ring (Homebrewed components also do a ring if you can stand the wait/alleged-lottery).
