Currently with Marks & Sparks, but my contents insurance has gone up to over £500, so what insurance company offers contents insurance to include multiple bikes (12+) that I don't have to list, as I also change them quite often and all are worth less than £1000 in a garage and away from home. Any ideas??.
Cheers...

PedalCover are well worth a look.
Worked out £150 a year cheaper than M&S for me with much better levels of cover.

Wasn't asking you 😉

OH is a vet and our house insurance is through a special scheme but IIRC they do the same for other healthcare professions. £100k contents cover with £5k per bike without having to list, no limit to how many just the £100k total. £130 a year and £50 excess with accidental cover.

John Lewis. If all the bikes are less than 1000 quid, shouldn't (IIRC) need specifying.

N+1 for AA home insurance plus good price and don't need to list bikes upto £5k. Also covers them when on holiday in Europe.

Re: AA, and many others...

Speaking from experience, check the small print. If your bikes are in a shed, detached garage or other outbuilding not physically connected to your house there will a limit, typically £3k for any claim. They will also demand locks of differing ratings depending on the value of the bikes. Named items may be treated separately, from the £3k limit, but will still have requirements on locks etc.

If all the bikes are under £1000 the world is virtually your lobster, many companies offer that as standard. I'm not sure you'll gain much from Pedalcover et al.

Another Pedalcover customer here, simply because the bikes are covered out in my garage. 10k worth of bike cover, don't have to individually itemise them.

Zurich provided you give them details of the individual bikes. Covered in the garage, don't have to be bolted to the floor, and for some reason the quote went down when I added a second bike.

Similar position here - M&S renewal quote £600 😯 Aviva have quoted £270 with bikes up to £2.5k covered (no increase in premium from £2k bikes) need to read the small print to check on lock requirements etc.
Will try pedalcover though.

As a result of this thread giving me a reminder, I have just switched from Barclays to AA and saved 50% from the renewal that past in October.

Indidual items over £1500 have to be named but it includes push bikes with no extra clauses it seems.

You could try speaking to a broker - we needed a specialist for our new house due to the non standard construction. They suggested a "high net worth" policy which has unspecified items, including bikes, up to 5k. Tsupposedly the policies start much higher than standard policies but it came out a third less than we were paying with M&S a few years back.

Please check the policy details, as that's what my policy said as a headline/sold over the phone.

As a result of a significant theft of bikes from our garage and subsequent claim, we had to challenge it, to the extent of the AA going back to the recorded conversation, and realising that I'd said several times that there were multiple bikes, but only one over the £1500 must be named point.

They agreed to settle in the end, with no admission of anything on their side, but I was looking at being approx £3K down without the fight.

I used a broker who came in at about 250 for unlimited bikes up to £10k which is ott for me now but still cheapest.
