Ok STWers, what colour do you reckon I should have this frame resprayed? And what colour 'stickers' to complement it?
It's a 1983 Harry Hall 531c with Campagnolo Nuovo and Super Record.
The components have cleaned up beautifully, but there's some rust on the frame so I might get it done. However I can't decide what colour.
What do you reckon, give pictorial examples if possible.
And don't fret, record brake levers have been ordered to replace the charlatan shimano jobbies.

All of these photo's are severely lacking any chrome. I would chrome the forks and right hand side rear triangle!
Nice bike! I used to have a bike of similar vintage (a Sid Standard Superbe). A work of art, I bought the frame second hand (probably around '88) and fitted it out with one of the first Campag Chorus groupsets.
I remember drooling over the adverts in cycling weekly and saving up my money from washing up in a restaurant. When I could afford something (say a rear mech) I would give my dad the cash, he would send off a cheque and about 4 weeks later the part would turn up - those were the days!!!
Sold it for my first car, always regretted that.
Most of the above are utterly not 1983, and it sounds like you are wanting authenticity.
Keep it simple.
Some chrome, that is more like it!!
Edit: and a Turbo saddle!
^^^^^^ erm, no thanks!
Aye, something reasonably classic, understated and in keeping I think.
Deep red would be good, perhaps with silver lettering, or black and gold/silver.
It's already got a Bernard Hinault Turbo saddle.
That brown reminds me of a lovely dark metallic bronze Ciocc I used to lust over. Metal metallics! were very popular, I mean silver, golds, bronze etc.

My Sid Standard was metallic gold!
How about this?
