You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Anyone happen to know what size bolt is used to clamp the remote on? Mine has rounded and I dare not remove it to see what size it is, in case it’s simething exotic and unavailable, and I also don’t want to spend 40 quid on a new lever as it wasn’t very good to start with. Thanks.
Did you ever find out the bolt size? I'm in the sane boat.
I am also in the same boat. Can't undo it as it is rounding.
3mm too small, 4mm too big.
I have a very bad feeling that it is not a metric size.
Sorry to say - It is Raceface, hence it will be some proprietary / odd / impossible to find size and no they won't be interested in helping customers find it.
(As you can tell, I am never buying RaceFace again, customer service and zero interest in any spare parts for anything, including making specifications public so we can replace.)
It should be the same as the Brand-X Ascend underbar lever V1.
Like this:

Can measure mine - if that's what you are after.
Or if you have the Aeffect R, with the ridges on the lever, it will be the Ascend V2 lever.
This remote? https://www.raceface.com/products/aeffect-r-1x-seatpost-lever . It will just be an m4 or m5 cap head bolt (probably m4 based on that picture).
Thanks everyone.
A 3mm hex key rounds off and wobbles about. A 4mm doesn't fit.
I looked up the torque specs for it on their website 2nm! Whoever fitted it must have done it up too tight. Raceface built it out of metal that is similar to chocolate in tensile strength.
The V1 uses an M5 25mm button head bolt that takes a 3mm hex.
The Race Face Aeffect is a generic design with Race Face branding.
Some galvanic corrosion may have made the bolt harder to undo - got a bit on mine.
