I have vans warners that I got second hand which weigh shedloads. Great for dh but I do a fair amount of xc now so what is cheap and cheerful without weighing too much.
I don't want to spend loads as i'll still use my vans mostly and they really need to work with crank bros mallets or candys.

try sportsdirect, they have a range of muddy fox spd shoes at stupidly cheap prices.
dunno how good they are like.
