sorting out a mates light setup, not looking at spending usual Exposure setup/cost.

Thinking the Bikehut 1600 on the bars with the Hope QR mount, but what's the go to decent budget choice for helmet light now?

Bikehut 1600 is excellent, used mine again last night and it's really damned good for the money.. though my friends Exposure 6 pack blows it away, at 5 times the cost so it should!

I grabbed my old solarstorm x2 and external pack for my helmet again last night, as I'm still undecided about an all-in-one solution for my helmet

I have the bikehut 1600 on the bars and the bikehut 1000 on my noggin.

It is a little heavy though, maybe the next one down would be ok?

I bought an 800 lumen helmet light from Chilli Tech for £29. Works well combined with the Bikehut one on the bars

@jonzi

molgrips

The 200lm is 97g
The 500lm is 144g
The 1600lm is 217g

Those are all with the GoPro/out in front light adapter

I weighed my solarstorm x2 headunit last night and @ 120g it's not hugely noticeable, so the 500lm might be possible, definitely the 200lm version (whether its powerful enough??). My issue is getting them low enough onto the helmet, to avoid branches

I like my Moon Vortex Pro. Not too heavy on the helmet and it’s an all in one unit. Paid £42 for mine I think - plus a fiver for the gopro adapter. I’ve then got a gopro base stuck to the top of my helmet which takes either the Moon or a GoPro.

Hi, solar storm x2 try eBay by advanced searching seller harrygabbs then their sporting goods section. X2s are £13.99 with UK plug. You would then need a mounting bracket. They used to come with the magic shine lights . I'll see if I can eBay look for something similar.

Hi, found the mount system. eBay search , elastic helmet bike mount, lowest price first. £2.04 from China, or £3.38 from UK seller, well probably a china seller but says uk. Cut off elastic strap then reuse them or velcro straps or cable ties to secure mount to helmet, attach x2, job done total £17

I have destroyed two helmets due to this, and felt like i had whiplash from one of the incidents.
