I really like my SC reserve 30s, and their warranty (not had to use it mind).

DTSwiss XMC1200 spline 30 if you’re looking to save a bit of weight. Probably not if you broke a deemax...

BlueFlow wheels (handbuilt in Nottingham) are a good shout. Stuart (I think) who runs it is a top bloke and the 650b wheels I had from him have been fantastic. Taken a lot of punishment firstly on a FS and for the last two years on my HT. Only replaced one spoke.

We have been running carbon wheels on most of our bikes for quite a few years now. Rovals which have come with the bikes, and a mixture of Sixth Element, LBs and Nexie
Including on the Turbo Levos
All have been great.
If I was buying new now I can't see past the Sixth Element and the lifetime warranty.
We have made the move to 29er on most of the bikes and have a very little used pair of Roval Traverse SLs in 650 non boost that's got to be worth £400 of someone's money

Hi jedi the industry njne new Enduro 315c Is what I would recommend
Good enough for Mr akrigg levels of abuse
Feel absolutely amazing on the trail and a quality hub to boot
Not cheap but the quality is definitely there

The blueflow and sixth element wheels are the exact same Chinese carbon rim as light bicycles and we've had mixed issues running both
Graham does a goo job with the lifetime warranty but then his RRP is nearly double the same wheeled competition
Blueflow and sixth element do get the rim from China and handbuild them in the UK but the issues we have had have all been with the rim and not the build . although the ride was outstanding on the sixth element durability wasn't
Now this was 2\3 years since we finally ditched them so things may have changed so this is only my experience of that period using the wheels available then .

I've been very happy with LB wheels, but I am a bit of a lightweight mincer.
I also needed a front wheel with a Lefty hub and LB were the easiest to get that sorted with.

I'm not sure why though jedi there std novatec hubs with ezo bearings and whilst the rims claim to be strong they dent easily and I actually think there expensive for what they are when you can get the new hope fortus (30mm is the one you want with reinforced rim) for similar money

I run both SC reserve 30s and Stans Bravo. They are both excellent and, apart from some cosmetic scratching on the surface of the wheels, they're both doing well after over 2 years on each set. Highly recommended.

The SCs did need retaped after about 18 months to get them to keep working with tubeless. No need for that on the Stans. They are super easy for tubeless.

I don’t get why anyone would buy the Hope Fortus over DT Rims - EX511 for a strong rim without too much weight.

Going on how my XM481’s are standing up (which are lighter but the same width) I’d think the 511’s would take serious abuse. If you need more than that the FR560 is the near invincible one - but it’s heavier.

Too late now but I can't fault my LB wheels.
Bought mine as a built up wheel set, lots of options for spokes, hubs and carbon layup, xc, Am or DH.

The Zipp 3zero moto wheels look very interesting. check the video of on their site that shows how they flex instead of break.

Given up with carbon rims, after too many failures of lb rims.

Have decided that rims are disposable, so the cheaper the better (within reason).

Would probably have a different view if I didnt mainly ride rocky trails.

+1 I've used LB rims in the past and been happy.. until you hit a random rock and crack.

Nowadays I'm happy on DT alu (511 and 471). Tough, nicely finished and practical.

Were they in stock @jedi if not and you need something sorted I'd give them a call as April delivery might mean they haven't left the far East yet and if they haven't they might not leave on time due to the dreaded lurgy 5 weeks on The water 3 days to clear customs is there current target .

If it’s not too late, We Are One. Made in Kamloops, so less chance of lurgy, competitively priced and a lifetime no quibble warrantee. It’s where my money would go if I were after a new set of carbon wheels.

What, specifically, is good about the We Are Ones? Like how they ride etc. I’ve seen loads of folk online recommend them, but the only things they say are brilliant is that the are not mega expensive (though not the cheapest), have a lifetime warranty (as do most branded rims now) and are made in BC (Meh...)

Follow up question for those in the know...

If I wanted some lifetime warranty carbon rims, but also required them to be on Hope hubs, with Boost rear and non-boost front; whats my best option?

I’ve been pleased with my Blueflow wheels over the last two years. The build seems good.

My DT Swiss EX511’s were ridiculously good though (ran them on my DH bike with no issue).

What, specifically, is good about the We Are Ones?

Their latest offerings have a shallow depth and are designed to give a compliant ride. I have no experience of this.

When they come out of the mould they don’t need any sanding or filling and only receive a coat of lacquer. And some decals. Though I don’t know if all the rims come out the mould in perfect condition or just the ones that are sold.

Their warranty is no cost rim replacement for life. Break a rim while riding your bike and they send you a new one.

If I wanted some lifetime warranty carbon rims, but also required them to be on Hope hubs, with Boost rear and non-boost front; whats my best option?

find a rim with such a warranty and contact the manufacturer. I know that light bicycle do custom builds, but I don’t know what their warranty is. We Are One will also do custom builds on Hope hubs. Alternatively, have the wheels built by a bike shop/wheel builder from the parts you choose.

Very few things are cheaper in Canada than UK. The exceptions are, maple syrup, tinned tuna, We Are One Wheels, and EXT shocks. That does not mean I have the budget for a new shock or wheels.

Strangely, even Canadian cheddar is more expensive, if you can find it.
