Not me, for a friend.  He was looking for used forks, but I was unable to advise since I know nothing about the current market for plus forks.

He would probably prefer something tougher than lighter, but he's not really enduro hardcore really.  Bike is a Genesis Tarn 10.

Boost or not?

If not, then the newer version of the Manitou Minute (2016 onwards) fits a 27.5 x 3" tyre with decent clearance. Can be had pretty cheaply new or secondhand - I got a set for £55! Pretty good forks too.

Errr.. boost is just 110mm spacing isn't it?  I think the bike is boosted.

I have some Fox Rhythm 34 FIT 29er 130mm boost forks, barely used which I ran 27.5 x 3.0 on a 45 internal rim.

Drop me a line if of interest...

Not all are suitable.

The Tarn came/comes with a boost front end.

I am running some of these. Not particularly clever, but pretty heavy and seem pretty stiff. Seem to cope very well with my poor set up and riding skills. Bought as a temporary thing as I wanted to try suspension forks on my rigid bike but didnt want to commit to £400 on some new ones. I will upgrade when they die, but they go up and down just fine right now

Reba 29/27.5 Boost.

Cheap and cheerful but great fork!

Thanks,

Max

You mean the front hub is boost spaced?

Anyway, X-Fusion Sweep with non-boost takes most 2.8" tyres, I presume the boost version will go slightly bigger. There's a a couple of pairs of new, ex-display, non-boost for £275 from Upgrade Bikes on eBay at the moment, but I guess it depends on how you define budget. For under 300 quid I'd say they were a bit of a bargain.

Upgrade to the Rough Cut damper and they're even better.

Do they? I've got some of those I was going to sell on as last time I checked they definitely didn't fit the 2.8 tyres I had.

They do for me. WTB Scraper rims, I've run them with a Nobby Nic 2.8" and a Minion DHF and a Rekon+ in 2.8". They all fitted fine, though I guess the profile may depend on rim width and impact on clearances. I hadn't really thought of it like that, a narrower rim might give a more rounded tyres shape I guess. Interesting.
