Indulge me, am looking at formula t1s on crc at
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/formula-t1-disc-brake-25th-anniversity-edition/rp-prod114502
As I feel the need to bin my elixir 5's

Anything else I should consider / cheaper elsewhere? Merlin are out of stock according to the site 😕
Riding is up over and down with occasional steep dh thrown in!
Looking at pairs for that price too!

Darn you people!
Is it the 615 or 596 versions?

615 deores or if wanting to spend more the slx or xt. In use, I can't tell the difference between my slx and xt brakes, both are faultless, deores are supposed to be just as good. Have had various hope and avid brakes in past and the next brakes I buy will be Shimano.

I have XTs and Formula R1s. Much prefer the R1s, better feel and way lighter

Yeah I'd go shimano, xt if you want shiny. Deore if you want a wedge of cash in your pocket!

I will be going for zee I think on my covert build.

the new shimano brakes, deore m615, slx m675 and xt m785 all have the exact same stopping power, difference being, slx has tooless reach adjust, xt has tooless reach adjust and free stroke adjust.
