Please can anyone help? My GF's son's bike has a semi sealed bottom bracket and she wants to have it replaced with a sealed unit, preferably Shimano. The axle length is 120mm measured with a mi chronometer, and we seem only to be able to find BB's with 118 or 122.5 (i.e. BN-UN55). Does it need to be exact or will either 118 or 122.5 fit okay?

Either of those shimano ones should be fine and will be so much better than what's in tere

The thing that was in was a vp-bc55 it is truly awful :-(. I guess the 118 would be the best choice being the closest to 120.
