Following on from Harry's thread, I've realised that I've never stopped wanting 'a new bike', of course much of the time it doesn't happen.
Having in recent years built up a selection of parts and then looked out for 2nd hand frames to try out.
I can't narrow it down to 'one' bike at the mo to say yes, that's the one...!
I'll have a think though.
Anyone else?

some kind of super light carbon SS rigid fatty/650b++. Possibly with drop bars.
Don't think anyone makes it...yet.

Probably something made in the spirit of an 'old school' XC steel hardtail but incorporating modern technology. A handbuilt DeKerf made from something like 853, with 29" wheels, current XTR group and a lightweight 120mm fork would fit the bill.

EDIT: T'would appear it exists! link

Pretty happy with what I have tbh, wouldn't mind swapping my Voltage frame for an NS Soda though.

There's nothing specific I want, just a couple of styles of bikes I fancy, but not enough to actually buy one.

A super light 29er carbon XC FS
A DH bike
A gravel/monster cross bike

I'd have a Battlecat, but I don't have a pot to piss in and can't justify replacement so will remain an idle wish 🙂 would have 1x11 XT bling wheels and bits

I really want to try something unconventional. And I'm sick of all the bollocks being peddled by mainstream brands.

(Even I would lose the hideous mudguard though)

A super light steel or ti road bike with Di2 Dura-Ace and 50mm Carbon wheels.
A proper CX bike with hydraulic disks.
Maybe a single speed road bike.
A fast winter road bike.
And maybe one of those post office bikes that are being sold

Yep, that'd do I reckon.

My DH frame is a little too small for me. So I'd like a bigger one.

And my trail bik's wheels are a size too small, apparently - so same again with bigger wheels thanks. Or maybe a Patrol Carbon, if you insist.

And an Escapade, a Stooge, a Solaris with plus wheel/tyres, and that new 5010.

Fortunately they don't make it yet as I'm skint at the moment.

Currently the 2016 Orbea Rallon, suspect Specialized will be coming out with a new model 29er Enduro with the boost rear next year.

I've got my dream full sus (though wouldn't be upset if someone donated some ENVE rims for it mind...) but have a total dilemma HT wise right now...

If Stanton dropped the BB height on the Sherpa by 15mm, I'd buy one tomorrow. It's just too tall for my tastes personally, but that said, it's still lower than a lot of its competition (read Cotic Solaris et al)... So an aggressive trail geometry 853 29er Steel HT designed around a 120mm fork with a sub 67deg head angle and 430mm stays would be lovely thank you very much for asking...

In theory I'd like to try a carbon 29er full sus 120-130mm frame as a first but I do also like those carbon triggers.

I've just got mine, well 2 weeks ago a speshi camber 29er, I will admit I wanted the carbon version but budget wouldn't stretch that far for that movel but loving the new camber.

Moved from a 29er Hardtail and a 26er Camber to a hybrid of the 2, 29er 120mm travel evo geometry from last years camber 29er, its a great bike.

what's not too like?

Weird sizing, I'd need an XL - and its not that nice looking a bike in larger sizes, the neat line of top tube and seat stay disappears. No 150 Reverbs either 'cos of the seatpost size.

But still.

Wish Santa Cruz would stop messing about and make a carbon Heckler, I'd buy one, of all the bikes I have I keep coming back to the simple single pivot, does everything I need it to do!

@dirtyrider I have never ridding the 5 but seen a couple of clips and few reviews of recent and I just want one haha not sure why. They seem like a good all rounder. But the 2 bike I chose where realistic price range bikes.

For me it would be a Nicolai Geometron too, for now though I'll most definitely be making do with my Alpine 160 26er with an angleset and offset bushes, I love it but if I had the option of a new bike the Nic would be top of the list.

Hmm,
Hankering after a Mason Definition.
Mite be a possibility next year with the sale of two bikes!
Fancy a do it all hardtail like a Kinesis Sync 29er.
Dunno if I could ditch my f/s though!
Also a fun chuckable 29er fs maybe a Pivot 429 trail?
Looking at maybe a Trance 29er as a more realistic prospect!
Max

When I bought my Niner, I got a bike I always wanted & have always maintained I wouldn't swap it for anything. It's been in many guises, but latest + size wheelset has found it's niche.
I said swap though, didn't say I wouldn't add to the collection.

I bought a Five this year, cos I've always wanted one. I must admit, given the single pivot /.filing cabinet construction, it can hold it's own with all the latest plastic multi hinge machines.

Anyhow, about adding to the stable, always wanted a Fargo.
The older beige one.
Lovely.

I'd also love to commission a frame from Oddity Cycles.
They are lovely.

I'd quite like a 29" HT for taking the more scenic route to work, as I hate my commute.

I'd also like a new 5010, but it would end up being a mega build to make it light enough to justify over my Reign & after a summer in Canada the bike funds are a little low for spanking on new toys 🙂

Actually I'd quite like a new lighter road bike with discs. Mine feels a bit old and tired now but I can't really afford to buy a new one. Realistically I probably just need to replace the bar tape, seized brakes and cables and it'll feel new again but that's not the same!

I've been looking at a new road bike for about a year now.

Quite fancy a Ultegra Di2 with discs. Not overly bothered about frame material.

Short list currently comprises
Cannondale Synapse (as per relliott6879's post)
Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0
Mason Definition

Given that I don't 'do' mainstream brands - looks like the Mason.

I now need to convince myself that the £3.5k is best spent on a new bike rather than new garage doors...

ATM it would be a Ti Stooge. But that's not going the happen unless I win the lottery. It might be possible to do a steel Stooge if I can make the numbers work, but that would involve selling my Sanderson, and unfortunately that's a keeper.

I'd also like a Cotic Escapade to replace my Kona, but that's unlikely as well. The Boss has put her foot down about my bike buying addiction and no amount of "but all of the parts on the Kona fit" is making any difference.

Question for all the married men with a N+1 problem. What's it like to have a wife who lets you buy bikes?

I wasn't in the market at all really (apart from the Salsa Cutthroat, but I've got fed up of the way Salsa distribution works in the UK).

However I like bikes I own to be different from each other so a fully rigid carbon hard tail has just walked through the door in the guise of the Intense Hard Eddie.

Last of the production run - so a good deal pushed me over the edge.

The Czar and Flux are going nowhere though.

If I had the money, an SB66C, or Carbon Nomad and maybe build up a Shan to my own spec

As it is, I've no real reason to change this. 170mm up front, 150mm out back, long wheelbase/tt, 66 degree head angle, 35mm stem, carbon, just shy of 30lbs, dropper etc. If I stuck 1x11 on it and got rid of the big stack under the stem/high rise bars (All these are my preferences though), you wouldn't be able to tell it apart from the current crop. The tiny wheels might give it away I suppose. It's 7 years since I built it up
