I've always used towball-mounted bike racks in the past but have just bought a BMW Cabrio (2004) and am seeking a suitable bike rack.

I'd rather not fit a towbar to this vehicle.

The Saris Bones looks OK but I'm worried it'll scratch the paint on the bootild... ?

My sister used to have a 306 Cabrio & they used a Saris Bones on that without any bother.

I wouldn't have thought it would scratch the paintwork if you are careful about putting it on & taking it off, and it's secure enough that it doesn't slide around.

I'd probably be looking at a removable towbar, myself.
