I was just about to go any buy the alpkit airlock tapered bag for a trial bike packing weekend planned for the weekend after next.
Went to website and bloody thing is sold out! Would prefer not to have to buy the £65 version as it may just be used the once.
So what alternatives are out there I should be looking at?

I can recommend the apidura saddle bag. Served me well on a 4 day expedition on the cross bike. Seems well made, didn't move much. We had pretty epic rain so I used an alpkit dry bag inside and clothes stayed dry.
+1 for the Apidura stuff, I've got the smaller saddle pack and it's great.
I was looking at the Apidura stuff.
Does anyone know what you can't fit in the medium (14l) that you can in the regular (17.5l), other than an extra 3.5l? I mean in terms of physical "stuff".

£35 posted with no tax/duty and arrived in less than 2 weeks. Not used yet but seems decent enough for my once a year use.
picked up one of these last week. tough material with a solid base sown in, internal compression strap. not waterproof but will be great with a dry bag inside. the top rolls over and then buckles to compression straps on sides. top section has bungy cords for maps etc.
nice bit of kit but i have yet to use in anger, says its 18L capacity.

Did the same thing recently.
Send Alpkit an email or sign up for the bike luggage email. They are coming out of the factory almost weekly.
I got one for the Welsh Ride Thing the week before and it did the job grandly.
