Looking at servicing my hope 4 hubs and changing the suspension bearings on my T130. I'd normally get the LBS to do this but I've got time on my hands and thought I'd give it a go.

I've seen the hope bearing kits with nylon support mount but they're a different size to the suspension bearings.

Does anyone know of a bearing kit that could do the jobs?

whyte has a compreshensive documents section and also sell bearing packs..
https://whyte.bike/pages/documents

click on the model year and download the document, sure the bearing sizes will be available on there.

hope pro 4 buy a pack or source the bearings elsewhere

Kinetic bearings should have what you will need and they're usually better quality than those originally in the frame

Sorry guys, I've read that back and It wasn't too clear, my bad.

I'm really after a comprehensive tool kit for bearing replacement with different size nearing adaptors and gauges. Would something like this cover it (although on the pricey side)

I bought one of these kits recently. Already changed a hub bearing and a bmx bb with it. It’s just a press kit with loads of different bearing drift sizes. Both of mine I bashed the old bearing out with a socket kit extension bar.

If you have blind bearings you’ll need a proper puller for those. Not sure what a T130 has.

I was recommended the RRP kit on here, really good except that it doesn't have a blind puller with it, you may need one of those separately.

I've seen those eBay / Amazon sets and they look like they'd do the job.

I've a Mish mash of RRP, BSC and bearing pro tools, they all run on m8 rod.

I've the bsc handle / press. Some rrp drifts from wych bearings and some bearing pro tools bottom bracket tools, blind pullers.

I also got some m8 thrust bearings on tinterweb.

I have the hope tools for their hubs.

Someone will be along soon to say use a punch and sockets. Ive found the right tools take all the excitement out of it.

I have to say I’ve done some bearings in the past with a socket and wooden mallet but it was so much nicer with the Chinese set I linked above. Had the front wheel bearing I needed to change done in 10 mins start to finish - so easy and smooth.

Next challenge will probably be frame bearings in my Aether 7 - there’s a cheapish puller / bearing remover thing on eBay I’ll probably pick up for that.

I have a  2017 T130 and run Pro 4 hubs

For the hubs get the hope bearing support kit and use it with the ebay kit (or similar) linked above (I am sure I paid £35 for it). You remove the bearings by tapping the bearing out with the axle itself, no bearing puller needed. The support tool is fine but not strictly necessary. I am sure a lump of wood with a hole drilled in it would be fine.

The ebay kit is good for changing BB bearings too.

I use an RRP kit to do the frame pivot bearings as it is small and easy to use in tight spaces.

It is possible that the ebay kit would do frame bearings (kpx type) too. I can check if you need me to.

I meant nylon hub support tool isn't strictly necessary. The other support tools are needed as they slide over the axle for when the second hub bearing is installed.

You can get one of those bearing press kits for £44 on Ebay, then the over axle tool, I agree the nylon support isn't necessary. Considering what the bike shop will charge its a worthwhile investment, and you can help your mates do their bikes as well. I always use kineticbearings for Enduro bearings and buy max for the pivots. Unless it's a Nukeproof frame, their own kits are great value.

What he said ^ Enduro pivot bearings are worth the extra.

Same kit as Joe here. I've done various hubs with mine. Praxxis and E13 BBs too and Jerry rigged it to install a headset although that wasn't ideal (adapters don't go that big). It's a pleasure to use compared with hammers, sockets etc.

I've also got old hope Pro2 tools. I don't know whether any of them fit the pro4 I need to do next but I've kind of got to the stage where amongst all this lot I'll make it work. Sometimes I use the old bearing as a last press adapter.

I think nowadays if I got a bike shop to change hub bearings every time that job comes up I'd be spending a fortune. Is it me or do they not last like they used to?

Will also have a Bird frame on the to do list soon ish. For which I'll probably buy a blind extractor of some flavour.

Thanks folks. Picked up a kit from ebay for 40 quid which should cover everything. I'll strip down and inspect them and order new ones if required.

Don't think it will do the Pro 4 hubs, without the hope spacers as you need to slide the press bit over the axle.

If you have an older T130 it won't do the pivot bearings as the bearing inner race is wider than the outer race. Will probably do the 2019 models though.

Good luck.
