Anyone know, or have any idea how I find out, what bearings are in a rear hub? It's off a 2021 Specialized Diverge Elite E5 and is branded "Axis Elite".
I'm not sure whether it's actually a Specialized part or re-branded Formula, Novatec or similar.
I'm also interested in a schematic of the hub to figure out how to disassemble and reassemble, and whether any specific tools are needed.
(I'd rather find the info in advance so I get to source the bearing/tools before I pull everything apart then can't get it back together again 😄)
Used to work as a mechanic in a Specialized dealer - usually a rebranded Formula/Joytech but Specialized are usually pretty good with their tech docs/spares - if you go into a dealer they’ll be able to give you details but they usually use standard bearings and standard workshop tools.

I've already tried to search on Specialized's website but no luck. I've tried the shop but am still waiting on them getting back to me. They are confident they've got them in but cant book the bike in for another two weeks as they are too busy....
So, I was hoping of sourcing the bearings myself and either doing the work myself or getting a less busy shop to do it....
Good call on the Specialized Rider Care. They told be I just need to pull off the end caps by hand and I'll see the bearings (and there's only two...hmmm)

No idea. I've pulled the cassette off and, it seems, it's some sort of Bear Pawls hub with a HFH-0013 freehub.
It looks like the hub uses HSL-0003 bearings but I can't find such bearings...

That Reddit thread seems to give correct info.
Getting the freehub body off is the crappiest part for sure. Vice and very large allen key needed.
I have replaced plenty of those, the freehub bodies are not too durable and break often.
As well as this part (Reddit quote) "The bolt holding the freehub, is neither 14, 15 or 16mm, as others have speculated. It's an imperial 5/8" hex! It was one hell of a task to find one here in Europe. Also, the outer diameter of the tool, was too big to fit inside the hub shell. So I had to turn it down in a lathe, so it would fit. "
I had a similar problem - ended up scrapping the wheel and buying something a bit more user friendly to maintain.
I just tap them out, measure them and then buy the same size....

Can you take the disc off so you can see the outer race of the bearing - there may be a part number marked on it (HSL-0003 doesn't make any sense).
That Reddit thread suggests that they're 15267 bearings, so nothing exotic: 15 x 26 x 7mm (you would want 15267-2RS). Easy enough to measure it once the disc is off.
Looks to me that the HSL-0003 is a rubber bearing cover, not the bearing itself. I'd remove that and see what is behind it. 15267 isn't an unusual size.
I don't have a bike workshop so I've admitted defeat and found an LBS which can look at it in a couple of days. Instead of the first one I went to who wouldn't be able to look at it for another two weeks....
