I've ridden for many years but only recently started buying specific riding kit. I got a pair of Five Tens but they're a bit chunky for pootling about so I bought these "Shimano casual cycling shoes" off ebay.

Thing is they have no branding and certainly don't say Shimano on them anywhere except for the innersole (which says it's a 48, the shoes are 46). Also they're flimsy as hell, this can't be right shirley?

Yeah that's just my pinky.

No, you haven't...

All the shimano flat pedal shoes I've owned have had Vibram soles which have featured Shimano branding (along with the uppers). Flexier than 5.10s but not THAT flexible!

+1 for pov shoes with Shimano insoles. Worth raising a dispute with vendor or too cheap to be worth the hassle?

There is nothing like those shoes on the shimano website - these being the closest.

All the Shimano shoes I've had have been labelled with model number inside them.
Certainly don't look Shimano to me either.

There's a "shock absorber" in the heel; why would you need that on a cycling shoe?

The sole doesn't look very grippy either......

Nope, I don't think so.

They look like some cheap casual shoes you’d see for sale in Tkmxx or Sainsbury’s or similar. They are not cycling shoes in any way.

Could I interest you in a nice secondhand Nukeproof Mega to go with those OP?

Ooh I like the Nukeproof, especially the back mudguard.

Thanks for all the input. I was 9/10 that they weren't what I'd been told they were within seconds of opening the box. I just wanted to be sure before getting hold of the seller.

Surely a troll.
Eh?
