I've seen various recipes but wondered if ..after all these years, there is any consensus on a mix that'll work well and save money . I've a load of porous tyres that are a pain.
Also may I ask if people ever paint on liquid latex when dealing with such tyres?
Thanks.

I used a:1 part liquid latex to 1 part de-ionised water to 2 parts motorbike slime mix for years. Worked out about 50% cheaper than Stans and sealed porous tyres no problem. Nowadays I'm on latex free Tyre Yogurt as it doesn't dry out leaving aliens inside so literally could last the life of the tyre and can't recommend it enough after about a year of use. In fact if I had porous tyres that I wanted to keep I would seal them with a latex mix and then wipe it out and put TY in afterwards! FWIW

I just use art latex. Normally 50 ml undiluted to get the tyre sealed up, then another 100 ml of 50-50 diluted once it's settled down. I used to use Slime 15 years ago, it might be worth it if you have porous sidewalls.

1 part Stans race, top upto 27psi at full tyre volume with an approximate 4:1 mix of nitrogen and oxygen.

Interesting recipes ..I'm currently frustrated with a non TR conti trail king 2.4
Despite 200ml of stans and a ride, + plenty of sloshing the bugger just won't hold air .
What is weird is that a frothy soap water test revealed no leaks so I then submerged the rim/tyre little by little and even then no bubbles worth mentioning.
Just pumped to 50 psi and can see it's still porous in some areas but not enough to produce a stream of bubbles . It still drops to 15 psi within a couple of hours ( not riding)
I'm presuming lots of minute bubbles adds up but more than I'd expect. And no it's not the valve!

I'm experimenting with adding glitter to my purchased sealant but only on the road bike.

Ive found the mtb doesn't need it and any holes I can plug.

On the road bike it's not as easy to plug and it seals around 60psi on a 25mm tyre. When I try to inflate it leaks and seals again at 60 psi.

I can't say that it's worked or not but the glitter has been in a year and I've not noticed a puncture yet (famous last words) and that's on schwalbe pro one tyres!

I'm expecting to get a puncture one day and get covered in glitter 🤣

I suppose I should have tried an old tyre with a hole but it's a bit of a faff and I couldn't be bothered.

If I've not got pukka sealant I just use a 50/50 latex/water mix which seems to work about as well....

I've been using Oko Offroad Vehicle Sealant (diluted 50/50 with water) - seems to work well in my Maxxis 2.6 tyres.
