We have one of these things

At what age would you consider it safe (on very quiet, 'good' roads) to take your wee one on a bike ride with them in it?

How would you manage that then?

I'd never consider it particularly safe to cycle around with my kid in that, I'd get a proper seat for the bike that's designed for it.

I didn't fancy that and I'm incredibly irresponsible .

Get yourself a wee ride, had the boy in it at 6 months.

Each to their own but as above I wouldn't fancy that.

For it to be even marginally safe I'd want the little man/lady in a helmet. Seeing as most young children's helmets are very bulky I would expect it to be uncomfortable for both of you.

We plumped for one of these:

I've been running the little man around in that for 20 or so months. Its like having a sports coach sitting directly behind you ..... "Daddy, faster!" 😆

Disappointingly, you all sound a lot like my wife 🙂

We have a wee ride at the moment. Number 2 still fits it. I need to find a full sus solution for the rear.

I'll make a thread for that.

Thanks

I see a few folk ride round with stuff like that. It makes me thing they're using a very expensive airbag!
