Wow. After the last few months I'd got to the point I couldn't imagine the Peak ever drying out or being nice again.
Today was bloody awesome. I knew something was weird when I woke up and the slimy green sandstone patio was dry.
Did a peak loop and it was amazing.... Ok it wasn't completely dry, but compared to recently it was epic. Macc Forest was lovely dry. Chapel Lane was 7/8 rideable with care. Lots of ice, but also loads of bone dry rock and amazing solid crenellated frozen mud formations.
Stuff like Chinley Churn was a joy. Mainly dry with frozen solid vegetation and loads of frozen puddles.
Given how much it rained last week, I can't believe how quickly it changed for the better
Anyone else get out?
C'mon @Tracey, how was Cut Gate?
Got out Friday in the slop 😝 you can’t teach timing like that. Sounds awesome 👌
Edit. Walking with the kids today. That wind stung a bit up on the tops. Very cold 🥶

I've not been that cold for so long for years. From Macc Forest to Buxton was sub Baltic. And also of hideously long duration due to the hideous wind. Must have taken me about 2 hours.
Macc Forest / Buxton / Chinley Churn sounds like a really long day out
But yeah - it was alright out today. I'd hoped it would be cold enough that everything stayed frozen rather than being a slopfest.
It was pretty alright last weekend in the snow too, mind.
i rode Friday, conditions were pretty 'bog' standard, was apparent it had leathered down over night on Thursday. I rode again saturday AM and it was dry, ive no idea how or why it had dried out that much in 24hrs but i wasnt complaining. mud was still soft low down but grippy mud rather than wet slop. then sunday it was even dryer but all completely frozen!! absolutely fantastic weekend for riding!!
It was pretty dry but holy moly it was icy up and down Jacobs ladder.

I'll bet. I was planning on doing Rushup Edge ( which would have been brilliant) and Roych Clough, but I bottled it due to the fact I that the descent would have been an icefest. ( And I still had a long way to get home)
