Looking at replacing my Thomson 90mm stem for something different and slightly shorter as getting wider bars and just fancy a change. Currently looking either Eastons Haven to match bars or point 1 racing split second 70 stem. Any thoughts on these or any other stem out their?
I've been using an Easton EA90 for the past year or so, with 711mm bars.
Light (125g) and strong - although they come up longer than their size..., so go 70mm.
I've just put one of the on-one CNC stems on my bike. Looks very much like the thomson ones. Super cheap and light. Very impressed so far.
I bought an 80mm Thompson from Ebay for £45, which appears to be completely unused.
I've even got the linen bag and stickers.
Highly recommended, it's a shame that my six year old Thompson post is looking very worn.
Can you still buy stems that long?!
