I am after a 9 speed 36t chainring for xc use to put on my xt cranks but there will be no bash.
Current choices are the blackspire ones or a standard slx from the doublee set but I have never seen one without the bash guard and not sure of its appearance.
What do you use or have used that you would recommend ?

Thanks

Sorry, should have said it will be on a 2x9 but think one of the salsa ones may make it onto the singlespeed I am about to build. They look very nice.

The salsa will work on a 2x9 but the shifting won't be super fast.

Yeah, for 2x9 I'd go for a set of TA rings rather than the Salsa ones - teeth are a bit too deep on the Salsas for smooth shifting.
