I know I asked a similar question a while ago, looking for rim braked DH rims, but the situation has changed now.
I'm looking to build up a Rohloff rear wheel for the tandem.
The tandem came with derailleurs, useless cable disc brakes and rims for rim brakes, but no rim brakes fitted.
I upgraded the brakes to Hope 200mm Mini Monos and also fitted a Magura hydraulic rim brake on the back.
We found the Magura was clogging up with mud too easily, so I removed it again.
We've done a couple of rides on the Black Mountains and Clee Hill and found the discs adequate on their own, so I don't think I will ever want to fit a rim brake again.
So, I'm an XC man, I know nothing about the world of DH rims.
What's good for 160kg of riders on the rear a fully rigid, works well tubeless with Maxxis Larsens and comes in 32h to suit the Rohloff?
I want to build a front wheel on a better hub as well, so same again or something different ?
Any ideas anyone ?
To put it more briefly;
Which strong DH rims are available in 32h and definitely work with Maxxis Larsen tyres ?
I'll lob in an EX721 worked fine with ardent, minion & DH tyres. 160 might be up there on it's limits but not too far out.
Try posting on DF?
You'd be better, as suggested, posting on Double Forte the tandem email group

Personally I wouldn't use 32H on a tandem - I'm using 48h rear and 36 front.
i've got a pair of spank DH rims for sale they might well do the trick and i'm only at eastridge so collectable - i could build on to your hubs as well if you want.
theres some 721's as well.
cheers paul
