Always put bontrager muds on for winter and love them.
After a summer of big tyres they look scarily narrow. Is there a bigger mud tyre that works?
Specifically one that doesn't wash out when entering a mud patch.
Shorty comes in a 2.3.
The 2.5 is better, with more all-round ability, but the 2.3 is still an excellent mud specific tyre.
shorty front, forekaster rear is quite good combo.
Specialized Hillbilly if you can handle a 2.35"
2.25 Michelin Wild Mud Enduro casing (or whatever they are calling it now). Tough as old boots, even at 18psi over Sussex flints. Â Grip like a tory hanging onto power and clear like a man on picolax. Â I've had them on my 29er over the last 3/4 winters and only one puncture that didn't seal without an anchovy and that was a piece of thick fence wire. Â They last about 2 winters, I tend to put a fresh one on the front each year and move the old front to the back.
