Fancy a set of 27.5 plus wheels built up for my Hightower. If I run 2.7 tyres what rims size do I need and are there any bargains about?

I might have some 38mm ID wheels and WTB tyres going cheap next week if you can wait?

Coming off my missus' new bike that's due to be delivered next week.

FWIW, my Hightower originally came with 40mm id rims and Rekon 2.8 tyres. It was a fun bike with those fitted, but I ended up going 29er because that's what I was planning on doing from the start.

I have Halo Vapour 50's on mine. They are wide but give good volume to my 3.0/2.6" NN tyres. They are also very solid and have lasted through some pretty terrible riding without a ding so far

I got Stan's Baron S1 wheels for £275.

Nice quality and a good weight. Worked out way cheaper than a custom build.

I built a set with WTB Asyms, they were a good balance of weight and price, arguably not wide enough for 3.0 but should be fine for you.

Not the toughest though, they're basically the same construction as the KOM

If you've got a Decathlon nearby their Switch and Ride wheels might work for you? Duroc 40 rims for £230, also comes with tyres, discs and a cassette (which I think might be GX 11 speed, not sure)

Ibis 738s are sweet but ever so slightly dented front down widow maker once on first ride not used to open/trail and climb mode.

I left both shocks in trail and was testing out tyre pressures for 2.8” NNs.

Pretty fly wheels though if you manage to find on special offer unlike moi
