Still not sorted a new MTB for my 9year old.

I was thinking a 24" Vitus but may have missed the boat. Any ideas?

What sort of riding are you aiming to do?

We have a Vitus and a Nukeproof Scout

The Vitus is ok but if riding any trails The Scout is a much better option

The vitus hasnt been touched for most of the year

Also at 9 Mine finds the Vitus too small (Hes 140cm)

Im looking at 26" / Xs 27.5 allready

She is just riding trail centres, things like Perry's Trail and Whinlatter.

Currently on a Frog.

Average height 10 year old on a 26 nukeproof scout here.  Was originally looking at 24' bikes for Xmas when she was 9 but it would have been outgrown within a year.

What's your price range?

+1 for the Spec Riprock. I've just got one for my grandson for christmas. Its a nice thing, not overly heavy and a decent spec. I looked at the Vitus and liked the idea of the fatter tyres for some suspension action but the Riprock just felt like a better buy.

Bought my daughter (9) a Kona Hula last year. She loves it!. Riding never really clicked with her until this bike. Last bike was a Commencal 20" hand me down from her brother so no BSO. Did the Swinley blue loop with her a couple for weeks ago.

My god son got a used last year too and also is well happy with it.

Very low frame for good stand over height and great big soft tyres for confidence.

My 8yo is on a 24 cub-scout. A few coming up used, but expensive compared to the wiggle fire sale prices.

Oh yea and it must have disk brakes. Santa is bloody sick of tinkering with rim brakes.

I'd expect nothing less than a Santa Cruz

I managed to get a used early rider seeker 24 for £320.* It's staying hidden in the garage for the time being as he's still mid sized on a 20+ vitus. He's 6½ currently.

* I've spent about £80 on New bearings all round, new grips etc. probably get new tyres too before it ventures out.

Early Rider Hellion 24. They’re very light and the geometry is decent.

Levo SL Kids. Everyone will end up on an eBike eventually, might as well get her ahead of the curve.

Got my lad a Cube Acid earlier this year. His mate is jealous of the suspension fork, the hydraulic disc brakes are much easier for him compared to V's and the riding position is much better than the Frog it replaced. Recommended.
