Looking for a xc fork for my Solaris max was looking at the new RS Sid ultimate but very little stock and all full retail price. Apart from fox 32 any other recommendations...

The new sids are probably what I’d have on my Solarismax given the choice, but if you’re impatient and can find some cheapish I’ve found the older 32mm sids from my mk1 Solaris to be plenty solid, so I’m no hurry to change.

Depends on what you’d call xc and how abusive you are of forks I guess- I’m not pinballing down Peak District rocks every weekend, which might change my views, but I’ve not noticed them doing anything other than working on drops’n’stuff.

I found the same when I looked for Sids for my Solarismax. Went with Pikes in the end as I got a good deal on them.

Not sure if it's worth changing them for a bit of weight saving as I'm pretty sure it's the rider and not the forks slowing me down!

FWIW I've some barely ridden Fox32's in 130mm you can have (ended up buying two sets of forks for a build). Either keep at 130mm for bonus bounce, or adjust down to 120mm. PM if interested.

I've got some two ride old X Fusion RC32 120mm forks I'd part with if they're of any interest? Boost spacing, solo air, preload adjustment and lockout. Virtually as new!

Had the 120 Sid for about a month. Bought from Germany as there weren't any here. RockShox have gone to a lot of effort to shave grams. Not crazy light but for a 35mm fork it's rather impressive. Especially since I'd have a hard time telling which is stiffer compared to a Fox 34. The Fox, or a Pike, are smoother though. Possibly down to the Sid's new damper being a bit firmer and more progressive. As claimed it definitely rides higher in the travel. Main issue is it's not possible to get the full 120mm travel but this is normal for RockShox. Also mine have been fine so far but some riders report having problems with bushing play on other forums.
