After receiving a stumpjumper evo carbon this week and having a couple of rides on her I've decided that I don't need such a big bike.

What is out there at 120 mm that you guys would recommend?

I mostly ride around cannock and the odd Welsh trail centre and also the peaks a few times a year.

I'm sure this is something that has come up many times but is not a topic I've ever really took any notice of untill now.

A friend has just bought a Canyon Nerve and for the cash I can't see how you could get a better bike.

The Camber came highly recommended, I didn't like it much, felt like an overgrown XC bike to me... I think if I was doing it again the Mondraker Factor might get a look in, but I ended up going hardtail.

(Camber frame for sale 😉 Best bike evars. Breaks my heart to part with it, etc etc )

Specialized Camber 2012 (26" wheels) rocks! (Elite version to be exact) 😀 THE best bike I've ever ridden.

It just feels totally apart of me now when I'm out on the trails. I've been on a few rides where I've hit rough stuff a little above my skill level and I've took fingers off the brakes and let it go and it's done the business every time 8)

2012 Camber expert, highly recommend, well its what i ride! and its a great all round bike. Tapered head tube, rear axle, bb30 not sure if thats good or not at the moment, 2x10 transmission. Haven't been able to fault anything on mine yet, except ermm the brakes but thats just me.

Just for balance - I really like my camber. But it is the only full suss I've ever ridden after riding hardtails for 20 years..

Another Camber Expert 2012, last of the 26ers, owner here.

As LMT says, great all round bike. So far I haven't even had an issue with the avid brakes!

Trek Fuel EX
The ABP pivot thingy at the back wheel really makes a difference when you're braking over rough ground.

Did a demo session last year with range of bikes/riders. Ultimate conclusions between the XC lovers and the Trail/AM lovers was hard to find. With one exception, everyone loved the camber 29er! I agree that it feels as if it's sits in between the two styles, but perhaps that is what makes it a great bike for lots of UK riding.

+1 for Trek Ex. Loads of good deals on last year's models (paid full price for my ex8..what a tit!)

I ride Cannock and Wales (CYB mostly). The ABP rear just soaks up everything you throw at it and is no slouch on the climbs. The Hans Dampf have made a real difference to the grip too. Tubeless on the Bonty rims is a piece of piss (although an extra £20 for valves and seals and tlr tyres needed)

Dropper routing is also great for the reverb.

moved from a prophet to an rz120 (with 140 fork) no regrets, great being able to feel the ground and pop off stuff for fun, still rides rocks etc. just takes a bit of finesse .Not sure I would recomend the rz as the bearing arangement is a bit iffy good cheap bike though

When you say 'receiving', do you mean you've just bought it?

Only interested as I know someone after one.
