2Souls looks nice but £££, Honza? Yelli screamy states 80-120. Will a clockwork take 130? Oh and I want to run SS without a chain tensioner, pref with a 130 fork.
Cheers
Rich
Try a nimble 9 they're ok with 140s
I was always under the impression the yelli recieved a lot of love when running 140mm forks. From Canfield yelli owner manual: "We have customers typically using forks that range from 80mm - 150mm of travel on this frame.". No sliding dropouts though.. though as above the Canfield 9 (new design this year) looks a better bet.
Genesis High Latitude 'alpine' will give you sliding dropout, but I've no idea if you can buy this or the normal dropout version as a "frame only". Though the HL comes with 100mm forks as std..
so to the bike I own.. whyte 929, has an adjustable dropout (rather than sliding), and come with 120mm forks... so may fufill you spec's, though they had a limited production run, so might not be eaily located, and not at all as a 'frame only' option
Zippy ...which is why I suggested a Canfield Nimble 9 ...same as a Yelli but steel and sliding dropouts
And like you say the new one look very nice
..problem being the price of those Canfield's, not cheap... I would have seriously looked at the Yelli's if they'd been cheaper (& had I more patience).
Don't forget the TransAm29. SSable, not to pricey
The new Singular Buzzard? Needs a tensioner for SS-ability, but has ISCG mounts so can use something like a Black Spire Stinger - which is quite neat and doesn't mean messing around at the dropouts.
I've just changed from a 120 Reba to a 130 Rev on my Honzo and its made far more of a difference than I thought it would. Lots more fun now.
New Honzos have a bolt thou rear but 1st generation ones are available pretty cheap as a full build now. I built mine up from frame only and I like it a lot but its a pretty heavy beast if that sort of thing bothers you.
Thanks for suggestions. What is it with some of these bike companies? Doesn't look like Whyte or TransAm29 comes in XL. Yup, Canfield too pricey, particularly coming off a £200 scandal frame. Wonder why On One don't do a longer fork 29er frame?
I assume the Titus fireline is why they don't do a specific 'on one' long travel hardtail, though no doubt a gas tube version will eventually appear, if the fireline does well (again no sliding dropout though)
As for the Whyte, I bought a medium 929 & am 6"2, as the large looked a bit too big & the medium 929 is very similar to the Large 729 figures (which I tested & liked).
Mate of mine swears by his Yeti Big Top, if you can get it big enough.
Behold teh awsumnez of the QH. 😛

Plenty of people seem to run the Scandal @ 120mm without issues.
