Seems a good idea.
Light weight, breathable, small pack size. Some you can even use as a shelter like the Dutch army ones.
Seems great if heavy showers but not good in wind....
Any real world reviews or feedback?
A real poncho or a Sears poncho?
Light rain = light jacket.
Heavy rain = proper rainproof jacket.
I have an irrational hatred of ponchos but still, can't see what purpose they would serve in the biking world. A gillet would do the same.

Why would you want to wear a poncho?!
Did you even look at my photo?! Style, obvs
I rode with a bloke in Chatel who was wearing a poncho, it was pissing down & everyone, including him, got soaked.
HTH.

Admit it, it's because he didn't have full mud guards isn't it?
How does it stop you getting wet from wheel spray!?
Only people I've seen use them are those Dutch/German tourers with panniers bigger than them.

Look at the picture. You use it indoors.

I was going to ask what happens in the wind or if you're doing more than 10mph, but you've explained it.

They're sealed up underneath aswell. There's two holes that you stick your legs through. Would be a bit pointless otherwise!!
Isn't that a tent?
Rocket Man rides in a poncho it's just that he's so fast it looks like a cape

I feel old here. Cycle capes in the 50s and 60s worked fine and were common. Best I ever saw was a chap with backpack and panniers in the rain, with a cape and, to keep his head dry, a strategic frying pan sticking out of his backpack.
I now use a poncho (People's poncho)for my 10 minute comute. I have been surprised how humid you feel under it. As the water pools on it you still get wet trousers when you get off the bike as it runs off the poncho.
If it's at all windy I'd rather use a jacket.
I assume that there is about another half hour to that rocket man video above.
It starts off like a cheesy porno and ends with "what would rocket man ride"
😀
The kind of question that could only be asked on STW!
