You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Just discovered these today, fairly impressive and loads there, time to explore more I think
these are sort of local to me - any clues about them ?
Went there about 15 years ago
Always thought the area had potential
Have they started cutting trails in ?
I was doing the old HCC route from QE that goes through the woods by Ditisham school and spotted a trail crossing the big forest track just east of where the other bridal way comes in. Went up there for a good 20 minutes and kept finding more, then ran out of time and came back. Reasonably easy to follow good Xc singletrack.
must admit, im still none the wiser as to where this is - whats HCC?
HCC - hampshire county council, they published a number of MTB routes a while back
So trying again, the track crossed the main route through the woods, also known as the sussex border path at about 756169, I went NW uphill
Went up there a couple of times when I lived in Petersfield. There are a lot of tracks throughout the woods between the paths marked on the OS map because they have motorbike enduros there every so often. There's a steep flinty descent into the edge of the woods from Ditcham Park school, known as Widow Maker, here: http://www.multimap.com/s/MbyRyEc0
I keep meaning to go back to explore, as I'm much better acquainted with the trails further north up the Sussex Border Path.
The widow maker has been rather tamed. Still interesting but much less lose and rutted than it used to be.
Stuff I was on had not been used by motorbikes
That's a shame, I remember it being fun.
