My wife and I would like to do this soon. We are realistic about our fitness and skill levels so would take plenty of time to do it. We would like to do a wild camp on dartmoor and probably find b+bs for the rest.

Question for the hive. Is it doable sensibly on a cotic roadrat and a dirty disco. Or should we take suspension? We have aeris's set up for Alps trips which I wouldn't fancy pedaling on road too much. We also have a genesis io alfine (me, it's a bit heavy) and a camber (her) for the local bridleways which are getting on a bit but could be spruced up for the trip.

What would you take. We would take a frame bag for the camping gear.

I was planning to do this on my Tripster, over a couple of days (v. light weight, likely B&B) - you'd be fine without suspension.
Biggest tyres you can fit maybe if speeds no concern.

Be warned there is also a West Country Way sustrans route, don't confuse the too as that's Bude to Bristol 😀
