Is it rideable on a CX bike or would MTB be better suited?

Thanking you in advance, heading that way at the weekend 😀

Do you mean the bit between Goring and Avebury? If so, entirely CX suitable if dry. The chalk would be a bit slippy if wet though.

I believe people have done it on a cross bike, might not be the most comfy and prob high risk of punctures, MTB will be fine as well, take you choice!

It would be OK on a CX, but as stated only if dry... would be a bit bumpy though at times that's for sure. Wouldn't be something I'd do personally.

Depends if you mean Wessex Ridgeway Marlborough - Lyme Regis or just the Ridgeway from Goring to Avebury. Latter okish on a CX, the former probably not.

Cx bike is fine around there makes the trails much more interesting. The drag up from Avebury to the ridgeway is well quick on a CX bike.Have done the trails on a EX8 over biked for around there not as much fun.Use the canal as well link in the Saverank forest to.

I've done it CX all year round, fine as long as you pick the right tyres for the conditions. FS not necessary.
