Non-drive side crank felt a bit loose on way back so decided to check out tonight

Nearly - you need the '/' in the second IMG tag:

It's difficult to understand why that has broken like it has. Any chance of a few really clear, close shots of the fracture faces in this one:

My rather well worn Truvative cranks did that - mine were an odd 'spiralling' fracture and missing piece from where the crank bolt tightened. For mine it must have been fatigue, as they were 6 years old.

Were the pinch bolts tightened to the specified torque?
