How're people finding their riding at the moment - getting the miles in, or stagnating in lockdown?
Just looked at the STW Strava Club, and some fit bugger did 500km with 8000+m of climbing this week!

With that in mind, I'm averaging 90km a week so far this year, 13 rides (10 mtb and 3 road).

Looked at my last 15 road rides on Strava (between Oct and today), and apart from one where I had to stop and call the police(!), they all averaged between 24 and 25 kmph.
Shortest ride 52km and longest 120km.
This is on a Genesis Vagabond with 42c tyres on, so not lightweight racing kit.

Quite happy with the consistency, but feel I should be pushing the distance and tempo a bit 🙂

15mph on a vagabond isn’t slow imho.

Only 2 rides out in the real world this year so far, the rest have been on Zwift. It also explains why I'm at nearly double my mileage target for the year so far. Hopefully I'll get my arse into gear and get out sometime later this week, the weather looks to be favourable around Thursday/Friday so it gives me a damn good reason to actually get the bikes back in running order and use them!

Struggling to meet my target of 7 hours a week including ~2 hours of commuting, after feeling rough most of this last week I'm now ~8 hours behind my other random target of 365 hours in 2021.

Looking back to where I was at this time last year is quite depressing.

Thanks 🙂
I would like a decent lightweight road bike at some point, but living in East Devon, with roads that are often like dirt tracks, something a bit more robust is generally better!

I just looked. I guess it was Dan Evans who you referred to. Ex national hill climb champion and pro cyclist?

There's a few other names on that list I recognise. Plenty of sponsored riders.

I've just sneaking into the top 20. Mostly been zwifting this week though, now moving to the road as the trails have turned into bog now they've defrosted.

I'd not compare yourself to others. You can't see from those results who's virtual, who's on the road, who's in the south and who's in the frozen north! I've always tried to focus on enjoying myself on the bike, everything else follows.

This year, 27 rides, 532 miles and 32,146’ of elevation gain in 65 hours.

All MTB, although this month has been tougher to find the motivation to get out weekday evenings.

I'm not really, just found it funny that some people are pushing those distances!
I tend to aim for 4500-5000km a year, so on target atm.
I've also been trying to do 800m+ of elevation per ride, and so far I've managed it on all bar one really short MTB ride.

Having had a couple of poor months Nov to Dec (ended up in a habit of drinking 3-4 times a week as a response to covid boredom), in Jan I did just over 400km to get the Strava badge (I have Zwift but don’t record indoor miles, too easy at 25mph and removes incentive to get out), which is by far the furthest I’ve been in Jan.

Always a question grounded in perspective this one. If you’re smashing 2000 miles a month then 500 a month seems rough, but for me that would be a big big month.

Hope everyone’s enjoying what they’re doing regardless of miles covered.

More miles per week than previous years due to WFH, more time to sleep and rest, less work stress, much better mental health due to WFH. Fitness is the best its ever been.

It'll all change when I have to go back into work in a couple of weeks though.

I've been averaging 0 miles per month for about the last year. That sounds fine as I don't measure my mileage and never have.

Unfortunately I'm also averaging 0 whoops or schralps, 0 meters of wheelies, 0 degrees of sideways and 0 seconds of air time.

This is a problem.

+1. I'm around 14mph on 2.1 FastTraks. I use the Vagabond almost every day, and have done more mileage so far this year than in a long time, simply because, so far, I don't have to take the kids to school on my way to work I also extend my commute to and from the office because I don't need to rush home. I'm just coming up to 700 miles for the year, mainly commuting but a fair few MTB rides in there as well. I'm aiming to hit the dry trails in a few weeks feeling fit, and be going into the 'cross season (crossed fingers!) fitter than for a long time.
