literally in the middle of a small clearing, no seats and made of shiny stainless steel, not a picnic area, concreted into the ground

not exactly blending in is it? (bike excepted)

It's a Health and Safety requirement.

When you sacrifice virgins in the glade, you need a wipe clean surface.

Very useful - if you can find a virgin...

well, there was an artist who took a load of cash from the new york coffers to create a memorable piece in central park - he claims to have constructed a massive sculpture and buried it underground in the park! no one knows where, or if he even did! i suppose it would blend in nicely at least 😉

It's the NW Alps masonic outdoor lodge secret alter site, hence why it's cemented in & pointing directly towards magnetic North 🙂

Was riding through woods near me recently, when I came across a dog burial place including their leads pinned to the tree and some poetry laminated and stuck to the tree.

Weirdest was probably riding at swinley at night when the siren goes off for someone having escaped frm Broadmoor mental hospital

Has any one seen the fake church front at the start of the Marin Trail. Its just on the right at the start of the first fire track climb. I've tried like hell (googled) to find out what it is.

Spotted this in Thetford Forest yesterday. It was miles and miles from the nearest supermarket and would have taken quite an effort to get it there from the road - must have been nearly a mile...

There's a trail in the Wyre Forest known as White Chair because there is a white plastic chair next to it, a long way from the nearest road or house.

Is that the table from up in the Lickey Hills? Always seems a bit out of place.

I think it's an easy access dogging/bukkake spot. A simple wipe down with a wet cloth and it's good to go for the next group..........

I like the table, its quirky and practical. Shame some fool put a bike on top of it, it's clearly not a bikes stand.

I can hear the 'Imperial March' and feel the tension as Lord Vader prepares to battle the trolley. I also like cumulous cloud drama in the background.

The Forest Pitch Project is planned for a site in the borders and supposedly built to only be visible from a London-Edinburgh flight. It would an interesting thing to encounter unexpectedly on a ride.

Came across a load of different coloured strips of fabric hanging from trees in the woods above matlock. In several different trees too. Must have taken someone / some people ages. No idea why...? Forgot to take a pic though 😳

Woods near us have similar, silver sail cloth. A local architect was killed there (he was felling a clearing and a branch fell on him).

They hang old CD's from trees and bushes at roadsides around here, apparently its to stop deer from running out into the road, not quite sure exactly how its meant to work but it seems to be quite a common practice.

They were hanging fabric to tree to propose against the forestry commission sell off recent in some part of the country.

Since someone mentioned Darth Vader... here's a Death Star...

Numerous other "weird forest installations" around there too (apparently "art")
