I was looking at my Strava heatmap when I noticed this.

Now dispite quite a few trips to the Alps, I have no recollection of ever having been to Alpe d'Huez. I've checked back through the week I was at Whiteroom and when we stayed in Deux Alps but I can't find any ride that this track would relate to.  Everything else on the heatmap seems correct.

Is there anyway to link from the heatmap to the ride? Or has anyone else had fantasy tracks appear on their route map?

It's really bugging me. I'm sure I'd remember riding 2/3 of Alps d'Huez....

Never looked at mine (until now), but no I can account for all of it. That's a very weird ride - looks like you literally started from the roundabout and rode part of the climb (or descent).

Lots of people start at the roundabout as there's a car park there, guess if you just want to do the climb and nothing else it makes sense.

look for some alp d'huez segments and see when Strava thinks you rode them?

Assuming its going to have a ton of segments for it look at the segment explorer and see if you appear on it.

pah beaten to the post.

There are loads of segments. I've looked at a few up and down.  They aren't showing a time for me...

Could it be a turbo trainer ride? I've experimented with Zwift and Bkool.

Try the heatmap here, it should let you click on the ride to get details. http://www.jonathanokeeffe.com/strava/map.php

Or Veloviewer, though you'd have to pay for premium to see everything.

Reread the OP and it wasn't that.
