Picked up a 5800 groupset about 6 weeks ago, set it up myself as usual and its been fine till this weekend.

For some reason the chain keeps dismounting the lower jockey wheel and then bouncing above/to the side. I've released the cable and checked the lower stop for alignment, seemed fine, set the cable tension, then as you move up the cassette the chain will dismount the jockey wheel again.

I've just put a new chain on (to correct tension) still does it, no idea... never seen this happen before, any tips?

Does it do it in the stand or on the road or both?

I had some trouble that turned out to be binding freehhub causing chain to come off. Only happened (initially) under load not in stand..

From experience my money is on a bent mech hanger, the slightest knock can upset a hanger and unless you have the correct tool to check alignment you are pissing in the wind trying to 2nd judge it by sight or perhaps a hang tooth on the jockey wheel

Thanks all, it only started today, I cant say it didnt happen but as its a road bike I cant think of anything I've hit/dropped/kicked etc against the hanger in the past few days.

Checked jockey wheel tightness and direction, still playing up

What I have found is that the rear axle seems to be slightly bent in the wheel, no idea how this happened, I've not even hit a pot hole or anything for weeks, the cassette is moving a touch up and down when freewheeling which may be having an effect?
