I recently had a Carnac Enduro LED helmet as a birthday present in small-medium size but weirdly it's way too large.

Although says 55-59cm on the label inside the helmet and my head measures 58cm it's dangerously loose even with the band tightened as far as it will go. There is still noticeable space between the band and my head.

I've tried to adjust the straps but on a single test ride down the road it still flopped down almost over my eyes.

I've previously used an On-One Enduro in medium that fitted near perfectly so I have no idea what's going on here.

Other than the currently not possible option of buying a more expensive option does anyone have any other suggestions?

TBH I would like to use it as I like the LED in it & it doesn't make me look like a mutant mushroom but I'd be frightened to use it off-road as it flops around so much and don't think it's safe as it currently is.

I'm going to take my life into my own hands after the weekend and try to get in touch with Planet-X but before I do that am I missing something?

Cheers

My impression is most PX helmets in recent years have a roundhead design, which is no good for ET head people like me.

Tried retracting the multiple click back section pull-up/down of the tension band?

Thanks for the suggestion. Had a look but there is no height adjustment on this helmet, unlike my old one.

I'm beginning to think it's actually a large with a s/m label on it.

There's no way anyone with a 55cm head could wear it without packing it with pipe lagging first.

OK, managed to find the height adjustment (only 2 positions about 10nn apart and an absolute bugger to move) but that has made very little difference. With the dial wound in as tight as it'll go I can still slide all the fingers of 1 hand between my brow and the inside of the helmet up my knuckle.

Very odd fit for a s/m size and I'm sending it back. Shame as it was a lovely thought for a present and the wife is a little upset.
